Environmentally friendly paints - Used correctly, ECOS products will perform as well if not better than old-fashioned solvent-based products. All emulsions are washable and all shades are non-yellowing.

ECOS products and varnishes are a completely unique range of decorative finishes. It's the only range of totally solvent-free paint and varnishes available anywhere in the world today and has been independently tested to reveal 0.0% VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).
ECOS SUPER CHALKY DESIGNER WALLPAINT
A novel ultra-matt chalky designer finish. Highly durable, non-dusting, wipeable and super-breathable; not ideal where subjected to very frequent wetting. This paint, due to it's ultra matt finish, gives a very pleasant impression of evenness, softness and enhanced appearance similar to suede or vellum. It is also ideal for hiding minor imperfections on walls and ceilings. Ideally suitable for application by roller.

As a result ECOS products are ideal for children's bedrooms, nurseries, kitchens and anywhere in the home, especially if you or a member of your family is chemically sensitive or suffers from asthma or allergies. Most
paint currently on sale, both gloss and emulsion, contain solvents and
VOCs.
ECOS ECOS products contain none.
Q - Why is solvent-free important?
A - Because not only are lingering paint smells in the home unpleasant,
but many paint including most matt and silk paint contain solvents which
are positively harmful and cause Sick Building Syndrome, Danish Painters
Syndrome, asthma, allergies and chemical sensitivities.
Q - why use titanium dioxide instead of natural alternatives?
A - Firstly - it is safe, safe enough to eat. Secondly - natural opacifiers
are relatively poor and often need four or five coats of paint to cover
properly.
Q - why not use natural pigments/earth colours?
A - some are highly toxic (vermillion,) - the others are limited to
subdued shades - browns, reds, yellows , black etc
Q - Are ECOS products suitable for use in babies rooms or for those
with chemical sensitivites, asthma, allergies, M.E. etc
A - Yes, ideally so.
Q - Why not use natural binders and resins rather than
synthetic ones?
A - Some are animal products (bone, hide) - others take days to dry
(oil based) - others (rosins) - need solvents to function (turpentine,
white spirit) - in short, there ARE no adequate natural alternatives
